About the Ãå±±ÂÖ¼éx Program

The Ãå±±ÂÖ¼é Experience (Ãå±±ÂÖ¼éx) is a full-year Ãå±±ÂÖ¼é Core Curriculum course specially designed for first-year and transfer students transitioning into their first year of college at Ãå±±ÂÖ¼é. Students will complete Ãå±±ÂÖ¼éx1 in their first semester (1.5 credits)* and then complete Ãå±±ÂÖ¼éx2 in their second semester (1.5 credits)**.

To support student learning and development, Ãå±±ÂÖ¼éx classes are co-facilitated by an Instructor and a Peer Facilitator. Ãå±±ÂÖ¼éx uses a co-facilitation model as one of the ways to flatten the hierarchy structure in the classroom environment. The Ãå±±ÂÖ¼éx Program is committed to incorporating anti-racist principles into curriculum design and pedagogy.

*In academic years 2023-2024 and 2024-2025, Ãå±±ÂÖ¼éx1 will be offered as a 1-credit, 10-class course as part of a pilot evaluation. During these academic years, students will enroll in a section of CORE-196 rather than CORE-100/101.

**In Spring 2025, the Ãå±±ÂÖ¼é Experience II requirement will be fulfilled by the Ãå±±ÂÖ¼é Encounters: Baldwin course, which will continue to be offered as CORE-200.
